MadmanSports,
in my mind, would be the appropriate name to call a
service that says they can beat the odds all the
time. Trying to consistently make money betting
on football is, in my opinion, the quick way to losing
money for 99% of people. Most bookies and sports
nuts won't admit it. If you are trying to win your
football pool at work this service might help but I am not
going to guarantee anything. MadmanSports
was a thought of mine
a few years ago when I was betting on football
games. I wasn't betting anything big. I would
bet a few $20 wagers and occasionally as much as $100 on a
given Sunday. I was pretty good at picking football
teams and so, at the end of the season, I made a little
bit of money (a few hundred dollars total). For me the whole purpose was to see if
I could actually beat the odds. For
the record, I don't gamble on sports at all anymore.
It is illegal to bet on sports just about everywhere but
Vegas. A few years ago it wasn't illegal to bet on the Internet, which
it is today. If
you bet on NFL football, the most common bet in Vegas and
to bookies, the odds of winning are smaller than in
college football and other sports due to the parity in the
league. That is just a fact.
I post
my football picks for one reason and one reason
only. Entertainment value. I find it
interesting to see if I can continue to "beat the
odds", which I have managed to do for a few
years. I have never calculated my winning percentage
because I always ended up with more money than I started
with but since I no longer wager on sports I thought it
would be fun to actually calculate it. On top of
that, some of my buddies were asking me for my football
picks so the picks went online.
