I'm sure most of you remember the recent
Supreme Court ruling about the Pledge of Allegiance and how we
are supposed to remove "One nation under GOD" from the
Pledge due to separation of church and state laws that currently
exist.
Although I am a catholic I can live with
it. I truly believe in the constitution and I am always
concerned about mixing religion and politics. Many of the
wars in the past 1000 years have been fought over
religion. The Palestinian / Israeli conflict is driven by
religion also.
Well how about this.......
Take
a look at your U.S.
currency..........The
very dollar bill that every American holds in his or her pocket.
The inscription "In God We
Trust" was added in 1955 to the back of U.S dollar
bills.. While I am not positive I believe "One nation
under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance around
that time too.
Wouldn't it be interestesting if the
Supreme Court ruled that U.S. currency violated the separation
of church and state and the Federal Reserve had to create new
dollar bills? And the counterfeiters would have to start
all over again!
I hope everyone finds this
interesting.......
