One
of the big challenges I face with this website is the
continual struggle of time and value. Valuable
content normally takes a greater amount of time to write
since more research/reading is typically involved. Additionally,
making sure the content is presented in a user-friendly
format with proper business principles takes time to
implement. Since this is my first website I have
made more than a few errors along the way, which has
resulted in a great amount of time being wasted due to
rework needed.
If
anyone chooses to launch their own website I would HIGHLY
encourage them to spend a good deal of time designing the
website and determining which tools and business
principles will be applied before they launch the
website. It seems like common sense.
Actually.....it is common sense.
Given
my desire to launch this website and that is designed as a
non-commercial, information-based website I chose to
launch quickly. However, in making that decision I
wasted over $100 on web hosting, the user interfaces
weren't the best and the content could be better. In
the last few months I have been correcting my mistakes but
it takes A LOT of time to correct past
mistakes. I estimate that I have spent approximately
200 hours fixing problems that should have been designed
and executed properly before launching the
website.
I
believe that a great deal of the information I present in
my articles should seem pretty obvious. Given
the way businesses operate today I believe it is
increasingly more important to write about common sense
business principles. If the information I present is
common sense why are so many companies goofing it up?
I
would like to write content that causes you to walk
through life and see businesses
from a different perspective. I would like you to
see a business and then understand how that business could
be operating more efficiently and more profitably.
Hopefully you will have the chance to implement some of
these ideas with the company you run or work for. If
you don't have such an opportunity get the educational
credentials to do so or simply observe........It is such a
shame to walk through life without looking at the leaves.
